Run these four checks first
Companies House for the registered name, a domain search for the .co.uk and .com, the UK trade mark register, and a plain search to see who already ranks for the word.
The spoken test
Say the name down a phone line to someone who has not seen it written. If they cannot spell it back, every customer will mistype your domain for the life of the business.
A name you can't own is a name you're renting from whoever registers it first.
