Accessibility gets treated as a specialist add-on. Most of it is just careful building, and it is far cheaper done during the build than retrofitted afterwards.
The four that matter most
Sufficient colour contrast, real text instead of text baked into images, keyboard-navigable menus and forms, and descriptive alt text on meaningful images. That covers the majority of real-world barriers.
Why it also helps commercially
The same work improves how search engines read the site, and it widens your audience. Under the Equality Act, reasonable adjustments apply to services delivered online too.
Accessibility done during the build is free. Done afterwards, it's a second project.
What this means for you
We build to these basics by default — they are part of the brief, not an upgrade.
